Sensex Retreats From Record High As Market Trims Gains, Nifty Tops
Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian equity benchmarks scaled fresh peaks on Wednesday tracking gains across global markets. Both Sensex and Nifty50 soared all-time highs during the session before giving up some of those gains. Gains across most sectors — led by financial, auto, metal and FMCG shares — pushed the market higher. However, weakness in pharma and healthcare scrips limited the upside. Broader markets continued to outperform the headline indices, with the midcap and smallcap gauges rising around 1 percent each.
