The Issue: President Biden’s appeal to Ashraf Ghani to diminish the truth about the Taliban’s power in July.

The liar-in-chief outdid himself (“Joe’s call is impeachable,” Miranda Devine, Sept. 2). President Biden told the country the Taliban were not an imminent threat, despite being told by then-Afghan President Ashraf Ghani that the country was “facing a full-scale invasion.”

Yet in a 14-minute phone call, Biden told Ghani to join him in the lie and that “whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

Is that Biden’s version of “truth, justice and the American way”? His lies put Americans and Afghanis at risk in order to cover for his epic failure in Afghanistan. Resign or be impeached.

Devine wrote of “delusional mindsets,” “pathological optimism,” “denial of reality” and “fogged thinking.”

These are also terms that accurately describe the mindset of the voters who imagined that Biden is a morally good person and mentally capable of running the country.

Unfortunately, these are also the reasons why no matter how bad he does, they will still support him.

While I am upset with Biden inappropriately looking at his watch during the ceremony for the 13 troops slain in Kabul, I was far more concerned about that 14-minute phone call with his counterpart in Afghanistan.

It sounded pretty much like a quid pro quo to me. And where did we hear that term before? Oh, yes, it was one of the reasons the Democrats tried to impeach President Donald Trump, right?

Kudos to Devine. Her latest column seems crystal clear: Was Biden trying to pressure Afghan President Ashraf Ghani to do something — or else? If he was, where is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi?

Oh, I forgot, Biden’s a Democrat, and he gets a dispensation.

Now I wait for Pelosi, Rep. Adam Schiff & Co. It is up to them to do the right thing — or maybe just confess they are hypocrites, like we already knew.

The clock is ticking. If you don’t believe me, just ask Biden to take another look at that watch of his.

To all of those people calling for Biden’s head, either through impeachment or invoking the 25th Amendment, please remember what you are wishing for.

Should this happen, we will wind up with this administration’s real loser, Vice President Kamala Harris. She is absolutely the worst person to ever hold this post, and she would be even more abysmal than Biden himself.

Oh, and one more thing — this would put Pelosi even closer to the presidency. I shudder to think of that possibility.

Let’s wait until the midterm elections next year and hope that the voters do the right thing and return the Republicans to the majority in both the Senate and the House.

The Republican Party needs a Pelosi.

If it had one, Biden would…
