Mike Pence says the focus on Jan. 6 is an attempt to ‘demean’ Trump

“I know the media wants to distract from the Biden administration’s failed agenda by focusing on one day in January, they want to use that one day to demean the character and intentions of 74 million Americans who believed we could be strong again and prosperous again and supported our administration in 2016 and in 2020”

Former Vice President Mike Pence says the focus on the events of January 6 is a being used to “demean” Trump supporters.

In a Monday interview with Fox News, Pence said he believes the press is using the insurrection events of Jan. 6 to “distract from the Biden administration’s failed agenda.”

On Jan. 6, 2021, a group of protestors entered the U.S. Capitol, seeking to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election by disrupting a joint session of Congress that was counting electoral votes.

Later in the interview Pence said that “January 6 was a tragic day in the history of our Capitol building.”

A House select committee is currently investigating the Jan. 6 events — the committee is made up of seven Democrats and two Republicans.

During the TV appearance, Pence touted his new podcast and said the GOP will “win back the Congress in 2022 and win back America in 2024.”
