Trump Tower’s New Bar Sells $45 Presidential-Themed Cocktails

Donald Trump may be a teetotaler who promised not to monetize his stint as America’s 45th president, but a new bar in his Trump Tower is now selling a $45 cocktail called Forty-Five, as well as drinks named after features of the White House.

The 45 Wine &Whiskey Bar, which opened in the past few weeks, sells specialty drinks called The West Wing, Rose Garden and The FLOTUS. At $25 to $29 apiece, they’re not exactly priced for the people, though they’re a bit cheaper than the Forty-Five, which contains Wyoming whiskey, demerara and orange bitters, along with a Trumpian side of Diet Coke and beef sliders.

The motif permeates every inch of the place. On the wall hang photos from Trump’s presidency, including one of him in the Situation Room, watching the raid in which U.S. forces killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. A post made last week on the bar’s Instagram account confirms the venue’s theme, stating it “celebrates our 45th President of the United States.”

45 Wine & Whiskey Bar is not the only bar where fans of an impeached president can get comfortable. The Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock, Ark. features a restaurant called 42 Bar and Table. Any money from that operation would benefit the Clinton Foundation, which manages the restaurant, according to a spokesperson. It does not offer any Clinton-themed cocktails.

It’s not yet clear who owns the space inside Trump Tower. Spokespeople for the Trump Organization did not respond to inquiries.

The cocktails are just one of several ways Trump has tried to monetize his time in office after leaving the White House. On Friday, Trump announced he’s releasing a coffee-table book of photographs from his presidency. Priced at $75, with autographed copies running $230, Our Journey Together is available for preorder at 45books.com. It starts shipping in early December, in time for holiday shopping.

Also, at least two Trump golf courses use tee markers with the presidential seal on them, and the online Trump Store has launched a set of Trump-branded memorabilia named the T45 Collection. More presidential products may be in the works, too. The book’s website explains that “President Donald J. Trump official merch” is coming soon.
