Seraphim Space Investment Trust PLC portfolio companies onboard Elon


Seraphim Space Investment Trust PLC (LSE:SSIT) said four of its portfolio companies were involved in the latest launch by SpaceX, the rocket company set up Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

The mission, named Transporter-3 Dashing Through the Stars, took off yesterday to release more than 100 satellites into orbit, with input and hardware from D-Orbit, ICEYE, Spire and Leo Labs, said London-listed Seraphim.

D-Orbit, specialising in space logistics and orbital transportation, had its ION Satellite Carrier vehicle carried by the Falcon 9 rocket

Once in position in orbit, ION will launch satellites for customers such as Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT), SatRevolution and VZLU.

ICEYE launched two satellites to track changes in the Earth’s surface.  Weather forecasting specialist Spire was involved onboard on the missions while Leo Labs is tracking the satellites post launch.

Shares in Seraphim rose by 0.33% to 112p.
