Pennsylvania Treasury to auction off unclaimed property

The Pennsylvania Treasury will hold an unclaimed property auction this week.Nearly 4,000 items from the Treasury’s vault will be available Wednesday and Thursday.Those items include: An 1882 $50 gold certificateA Rolex 14-karat gold women’s wristwatchAn 18-karat gold chain link braceletAn 18-karat gold ram’s head bangle braceletA one-ounce gold barSouth African KrugerrandsYou can preview the items online.The state tries to return items to their rightful owners but sometimes needs to auction the property off to make room for incoming items.Every piece of unclaimed property is held for at least three years.Auction proceeds remain available for the owner to claim at any time.To check if you have unclaimed property, go to the Treasury website.

The Pennsylvania Treasury will hold an unclaimed property auction this week.
