Stock Markets Turn Higher as Investors Digest Fed Minutes

U.S. stocks edged higher after minutes from the Federal Reserve were released and investors started looking for insights into the state of the economy and the central bank’s efforts to tame inflation through interest-rate increases. 

The S&P 500 was up 0.7% as of early afternoon Wednesday. The Nasdaq Composite Index also rose 0.7%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average picked up 0.6%, about 195 points.
