Mailman killed delivering letters in MKE


Someone shot a mailman dead Friday evening as he was delivering letters in Milwaukee , police officials and the United States Postal Service confirmed.The deadly shooting Friday happened 65th Street and West Lancaster Ave.An emailed statement from Milwaukee Police said the victim was in his forties and had more than 18 years of service. “The postal worker in this homicide was a public servant, which makes this crime even more disturbing,” Mayor Cavalier Johnson said through a spokesperson, “Criminals responsible for death and harm in our city must be held accountable. To accomplish that, anyone with information about this crime, or other serious crime in Milwaukee, should step forward.””The safety and security of Postal employees is a top priority of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service,” a statement from the United States Postal Service added.Police have not announced any suspects or arrests in the investigation so far.Anyone with information on the shooter should call the Milwaukee Police Department at (414) 935-7360.
