NBA in the Metaverse: Brooklyn Nets First to Join
A futuristic way to watch sports is becoming a reality. The top NBA team Brooklyn Nets, with leading players such as Kevin Durant and James Harden, has become the first professional sports team in the U.S. to enter the metaverse and stream basketball matches through 360-degree VR technology.
Brooklyn Nets has launched a state-of-the-art video system that already delivered 3D actions on the team’s last game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Barclays (LON:) Center, Nets’ home court, is the first stadium in the U.S. to install this technology to provide fans with new ways to watch and enjoy NBA matches.
In the “Netaverse,” fans will be able to position themselves anywhere on the court by use of more than 100 high-resolution surrounding video cameras that create a 360° VR experience.
