OWC’s new Envoy Pro FX external USB-C SSDs

We have seen a lot of new SSD solutions hit the market (or at least announce) this month, coming from all corners of the world. Of those, OWC is another major hitter that has something new to offer with its new Envoy Pro FX external SSDs.

The new line of USB-C drives offers a balance between compatibility and speed. Not as fast as some of your new PCIe Gen 4 NVMe options (that are either internal or Thunderbolt-only), but still boasting up to 2,800MBps using USB-C 3.2. Keeping to USB-C allowing greater compatibility, while also allowing for use with TB3 or the new TB4 ports. Speeds, of course, will vary depending on what your system supports.

With this line, OWC is also focusing on ruggedness since external drives are meant for on the go, after all. With that, the new line is also IP67 waterproof and drop-tested with a military-grade certification. You don’t want any accidents interrupting or completely undoing all of your hard work.

Capacities will will include 240GB ($169), 480GB ($199), 1TB ($299), and 2TB ($479). The 480GB and 2TB models have already launched this month with the other two coming soon. You can find more via the button below.
