The Images of President Biden That Will Linger


Peggy Noonan’s “The Afghan Fiasco Will Stick to Biden” (Declarations, Sept. 4) is one of her better columns, accompanied by a photo of President Biden, head bent in apparent anguish. But the image I remember from the speech is Mr. Biden’s angry, challenging look as he deflected responsibility and even found a victory in the retreat. I nearly visualized former President Trump standing with him, denying the election results and claiming victory. Are we no longer able to find great leaders when we most need them?
