Former Trump administration aide says she was warned about playing

She said a colleague then knocked on her office door and asked her, “Are you trying to get fired?”

The question confused Troye, she said, so she asked for clarification, inquiring if the colleague was asking because she was blunt at meetings. She said he replied, “I don’t think she’s a fan of Trump’s” — meaning Swift — “and if someone hears that … you should really watch your back. You should be careful on that.”

Troye told Hayes this was “astonishing” to her, and that she had replied to the colleague that it was “late and I’m allowed to listen to whatever music I want.”

Her story comes after the publication of an article in The Atlantic on Tuesday by Jonathan D. Karl, the chief Washington correspondent for ABC News, which recounted a related incident.
