James Glassman Jinxes the Dow


In 1999 James Glassman predicted that the Dow (then riding at about 11,000) would rise to 36,000. A short time thereafter, the dot-com bubble burst and the stock market crashed.

Several weeks ago, Mr. Glassman returned with yet another prediction that the Dow would soar beyond belief (“Get Ready for Dow One Million,” op-ed, Nov. 3). Sure enough, a short time thereafter, the Dow saw its largest tumble of the year.
