Shares in Metro Bank PLC (LSE:MTRO) plummeted on news talks with US private equity group Carlyle regarding a possible takeover of the bank have ended.
Metro Bank said in a statement that its board “continues to strongly believe in the standalone strategy and future prospects of Metro Bank”.
Shares in Metro Bank dropped 18.37% to 108p on the announcement.
