Three men armed with handguns allegedly robbed Inter Africa Bureau de Change at the Beitbridge border post in Musina, Limpopo, on Saturday.

Inter Africa Bureau de Change has been in operation for more than two decades and is focused on buying and selling foreign currency.

Company management told News24 the robbers gained access to the business by forcing their way inside and ambushing the security guard.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the robbers pushing the guard to the ground and removing money from cupboards.

“Two staff members were present at the time, and they were held up but escaped uninjured,” the company said.

An undisclosed amount of money was stolen.

A case of armed robbery and theft was opened at the police.

The matter is still under investigation, the company said.

“Unfortunately, security footage of the robbery was leaked to the media, which is regrettable. It most certainly compromised the investigation as well as the safety of workers of Inter Africa BDC (Bureau de Change),” management said.
