Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 1.94%, while the index declined 2.03%, and the index lost 2.41%.

The best performers of the session on the were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:), which rose 0.87% or 1.400 points to trade at 162.750 at the close. Meanwhile, Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:) added 0.04% or 0.040 points to end at 90.380 and Covestro AG (DE:) was down 0.30% or 0.160 points to 52.840 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (DE:), which fell 16.78% or 3.85 points to trade at 19.09 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:) declined 5.55% or 4.38 points to end at 74.60 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:) was down 3.56% or 3.29 points to 89.11.

The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:) which rose 4.28% to 14.99, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:) which was up 0.63% to settle at 2.576 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:) which gained 0.38% to close at 63.40.

The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 7.16% to 9.516 in late trade, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:) which lost 5.38% to settle at 39.080 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 5.03% to 54.760 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:) which rose 4.28% to 14.99, Siltronic AG (DE:) which was up 2.49% to settle at 125.350 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:) which gained 0.63% to close at 2.576.

The worst performers were Suse SA (DE:) which was down 7.55% to 29.40 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which lost 7.55% to settle at 13.525 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 5.03% to 54.760 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 627 to 96 and 50 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.87% or 1.400 to 162.750. Shares in Siemens Energy AG (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 16.78% or 3.85 to 19.09. Shares in Delivery Hero AG (DE:) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.55% or 4.38 to 74.60.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 18.08% to 23.45 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.57% or 10.50 to $1832.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.71% or 0.61 to hit $84.94 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.74 to trade at $87.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1343, while EUR/GBP rose 0.61% to 0.8364.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 95.610.
